Classic Coffee Tiramisu
Authentic Italian tiramisu: coffee-soaked ladyfingers, an airy mascarpone cream and a dusting of bitter cocoa. No-bake and made in 20 minutes, it's best enjoyed well chilled after a few hours in the fridge. The ultimate crowd-pleasing dessert.
Ingredients
- 500 g mascarpone
- 4 eggs
- 100 g sugar
- 24 ladyfingers
- 300 ml strong coffee
- Bitter cocoa powder
- 1 pinch salt
Method
- 1Separate the egg whites from the yolks.
- 2Whisk the yolks with the sugar, then add the mascarpone.
- 3Whip the whites to stiff peaks with a pinch of salt.
- 4Gently fold the whites into the cream.
- 5Dip the ladyfingers in the coffee and line the dish.
- 6Alternate biscuits and cream, finishing with cream.
- 7Chill for 4 hours and dust with cocoa before serving.
